6.8 Mini Mauser?

Has anybody heard of using a mini-mauser or C-Z small action and the 6.8spc round? Scout? Mini- Sniper? Eastern Deer rifle? Thoughts?

Re: 6.8 Mini Mauser?

I've seen two different articles about CZ 527's that were re-barreled for 6.8spc. - In both cases, it was the 527 'American' model that was converted.

In both cases, the rifle was accurate and they harvested a few deer and pigs with it, satisfied with the performance.

Here I have a 527 Varmint Kevlar that I am thinking about converting.

It tends to be windy where I live, and I'm thinking that the varmint rig might do better with heavier bullets.

I'm not laughing at you charlesb, but often I get a big chuckle out of how old threads on this board get reanimated--it's like zombies at Halloween.

Heck I guess this thread was only four or five down from the top in the 'Precision Rifles' section when you answered it. Very nice of you to give such a good reply though--just hope the OP is alive to read it!

I was fishing... Hoping to encourage more information on the subject, as I am thinking of converting my CZ.

Re: 6.8 Mini Mauser?

I've read about this one, was thinkin' of buildin' an AR15 in 6.8, was advised to go to the 6.5, ended up not buildin' either one " BUT I AIN'T DEAD YET"...Is it the 6.8 that was based on the REMMY 30? Should do fine on deer,....., Hogg killin' time in Louisiana We shot them in the head at close range with a 22 Short....I don't know why it changed

But back in the days when We had a smokehouse full of smoked ham, bacon, and sausage by early December We'd never butcher Hogs right out of the woods, We brought the hogs to a pen, fed them up with corn , mash, so on, killed them on the first cold days in the late fall....I guess Hogs are harder to kill now and RANK, RASORBACK WOOD HOGS taste better than They used to
