| Montana Rifle Company
Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the Montana Rifle Company and/or Model 1999 actions and barrels in particular? I'm looking at getting one to build up as a hunting rifle since I'm having trouble finding a controlled round feed Winchester Model 70. Thanks. -R |

Thank you, Mr. Caldwell. The High Road forum has not had much positive to say about the MRC actions, which has been very helpful in influencing my decision. Though the slightly pricier Serengeti-tuned MRC action seems to have corrected most of the problems. Thanks, again, and I'll go look for those posts. -R |

I have one in .375 H&H that has got exactly 342 rounds through it with never a problem to feed or eject a round and I'm very pleased with them; so pleased in fact, that I'm ordering one for a .300 H&H Mag and another for a .340 Weatherby to go in synthetic stocks that I want to have built and a third in .416 Rigby in a wooden stock that I already have...

I ended up doing a custom build on a Winchester 70 action, instead of the MRC. Maybe someday I'll do it, but the Winchester will be my go-to long range rifle for the foreseeable future. -R |
