I came accross an old magazine the other day with an article on the MR-73 French revolver which piqued my interest. One often reads references to this revolver being especially smooth, accurate etc, etc. Does anyone here have any first hand experience with it? I do not even know if they are imported anymore, but I do remember that AIM surplus brought in some ex-Austrian ones several years ago.
While this revolver was supposedly a gem, I guess I see it as a failure in that it was too expensive, and the French soon started looking for more economical designs. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts or impressions.

I had one of these about 10 years ago. The are ok in fit and finish but no where in the class of earlier Col'ts or S&W. I was lucky to get the $300 I paid for it back! The polish is good but the interior is fairly rough. It uses lots of music wire springs and some pins (but some screws too) for construction.It has that weird somewhat tacky aura of a Citroen car. I had an Astra .357 revolver that was pretty much a ringer for it. The accuracy of both guns was fair at best.

Interesting! The article I just came across was written by Leroy Thompson, and he raved about it. The one's imported in the 90's went for $500 IIRC, and went quick. Im a sucker for odd revolvers, hence my interest in this particular gun, but I had a sneaking suspicion that they were over-rated. Thanks
