I am not all that familiar with guns, so I apologize if I am not using the correct terminology. Ihave a Ruger Standard Pistol that I need help identifying and placing a value on. The folks at Ruger told me it is a Standard Pistol shipped in October of 1953. The serial number is 63315. I think the barrel was changed. The following letters are on the barrel where the bullet comes out BEHLERT. Above the trigger it says RUGER 22 CAL LONG RIFLE AUTOMATIC PISTOL. The rear sight has the work Micro on it and there is a screw which will adjust the sights. I have included a couple of pictures.
I would like to know more about the gun and what it may be worth.
I greatly appreciate any assistance and information anyone could provide.

Hello. The 'Behlert' referred to would be the late Austin Behlert, who posted for a few years on these forums. Among collectors who appreciate the work of custom 'smiths, it is fair to say that your Ruger would have more value than if it was unmodified.

I think it is possible to do a search here of Mr. Behlert's posts, you'll have to go back a few years. In the meantime we have a few members presently who are doubtless more familiar with Austin's work than I am. Perhaps a PM to 'Wild Bill' Caldwell will bring him off the firing lines of rural Louisiana for a palaver here.
