| Welding a stainless frame?
Hi everyone. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck welding back together a demilled stainless revolver frame? I have a chance to get a S&W 686 that is saw cut behind the barrel and across the grip. Would it be possible to tig weld this back together and have it hold up as a shootable peice? Thank you.

NO. Not unless you like holding hand grenades while they go off. Revolver frames, especially Magnum frames are heat treated to stand up to the intense pressures. Unless you can find an absolute MASTER Gunsmith/Welder who is also a Master at heat treating it's not going to happen. |
