| Enlarged Firing Pin Hole?
I am looking at a friend's Ruger P89. Until last week it has given no problems with any reloads I have made, but the 40-45 we fired Fri. all had cratered primers. They were all loaded like what had been fine before. The gun looks like it has a lot of extra room in the firing pin hole. Is this normal for a P89, or could this be part of the problem? If not, any ideas?

The problem is very likely related to your hand loads. Describe the load used and we can attempt to diagnose from there. Primers are not all created "equal" and can, alone, be responsible for the condition described.
