In the standard frame AR I've got 3 .223's, a 9mm SBR, a .300 Whisper, a 6.5 Grendel, and a .50 Beowulf.

Plenty of companies out there making wildcats for the AR platform. Calibers such as: .17 Remington, .20 Tactical, .204 Ruger, 6x45, 30 HRT, .357 Auto., .40 S&W, 10mm, .45ACP, as well as the name brand companies like Bushmaster with the .45 Bushmaster.

My prob is that even though I only need one lower, I just can't seem to stand having an upper without a lower. Just doesn't look right in the safe. Know what I mean?

Ar-15 300 blackout

I'm building an upper that I think I'd like 300 blackout. Anyone with experience I would appreciate your input. My concern is feeding I see that some stripped uppers are sold as 5.56-6.8 and some just 5.56. It was my understanding that the upper itself had nothing to do with feeding and the barrel did. I see 5.56 barrels claiming M-4 feed ramps. If I were to get a 300 blackout barrel I'm assuming it would have proper feed angle engineered into it. Any info would be appreciated. I've built a lot of these in 556. But never had an alternate caliber. Also anyone with advice as to an alternate caliber I'm not aware of that would suit my needs. My needs being paper punching and 1 or 2 USPSA 3 gun matches per year. All ammo would be hand loaded and the blackout seems very versatile. Stopping power isn't really an issue nor extreme range. Accuracy is important but I don't normally have a range beyond 100 meters to shoot.
Thanks in advance for your input. I'm sure I will get lots of good input.

I should add I've already purchased an Anderson stripped upper. Couldn't pass it up. $41.95 at copes distributing right now BTW. what a deal huh
