Re: M1 Garand Restoration
First, note that there's a difference between restoring an M1 to like-new MECHANICAL condition, and restoring it to all original factory parts.
Many companies and gunsmiths can do re-builds to near like-new condition, but many may not have the parts supply to allow replacing non-original parts with original maker parts.
As example, the supply of good condition M1 original barrels has about dried up.
Here's two places to talk to. Make sure they understand exactly what you want, a rebuild or a total restoration.
Restorations may cost more than just a rebuild, especially if the barrel, wood, or other major parts have to be replaced,
