| ![]() I kept looking for something to work without spending a lot of time having to fabricate it. It works so well my wife twisted the nut off. It is a watch case back removal tool. Can be found on e-bay. Only problem is I don't know how to post pics here. I didn't forget so give me some time and I will work on this simple dilemma. Please forgive me. 2206 Accessories | Numrich Gun Parts[/QUOTE] The watch back remover is far more simple and less expensive than the one you found. I'll look for the one on the bay and post some info/numbers. I have been to "Gunparts" but I can't find anything or tool to do the job. I have removed the nut on both my 2206s and I can't believe how cheap the tool is how easy to use. I'll come back tomorrow with info. Last edited by socrates; 12-12-2013 at 09:29 PM. |

| New Watch Back Case Cover Opener Opening Remover Repair Replace Battery Tool | eBay Not the one I used but this will work with a little file work. I had the other for a long time and it seems they don't make them anymore. This is fairly cheap and there are more even cheaper if you search. Well I guess I will now have to learn to post pics here now. If I was 5 yrs old it would be a snap but at 68 it's like learning to speak Latin or something. |

That is similar to a flat tip screwdriver, except it's designed as a pry tool for some watchbacks. How does it work for a barrel nut?

So you modded it into a two point spanner. I expected there would be a couple of slots 180 apart in the nut.

| Actually all I had to do is make a blade (flat) the thickness of the slot and the width of the slot from inside to inside. Just a screw driver if you will. Have been talking to a machinist I met through my purchases of muzzle brakes and things he makes and sells on the bay. I have talked to him about a design for a spanner to remove and replace the barrel nut. I'm surprised no one has done one yet. Think of an "L" shaped piece of stainless with a half inch wide by six inch long tool made to fit the slot then just twist off or twist on/tighten. You just have to make sure it's thick enough not to deform when applying the torque to do the job. Take care for now. Paul Last edited by socrates; 12-29-2013 at 02:31 PM. |

| In looking at the 422 and 622 barrel nuts/collars they have slots that pass all the way through the sides where as the 2206 nuts/collars don't. It is worth the expense to purchase them both to see if they fit the 2206 making it easier to remove and replace. |
