Holes in S&W Model 19 Frame

I just purchased a used S&W Model 19-5 and cleaned it before shooting. I found two small holes on the inside of the frame under the barrel at the base of the frame. These almost look like factory work, but Iíve never seen this before. Anyone ever seen these?

S&W Model 19 - Holes in Frame

Hi, and thank you for your response. I had contacted S&W Support and sent them pictures to see if these holes were from the factory. They responded and let me know (1) these holes were not from the factory, and (2) they should not impact the structural integrity of the weapon at all. I have been shooting Smiths since the 1960's and this is the first one where I have seen these holes first hand, but I could swear I heard of this somewhere before. I took the weapon out and fired it yesterday, it was fine with both 38's and 357's. Since I'm new at this and haven't figured out how to post the pictures, there are two very small holes at the inside base of the frame under the barrel. This is a Model 19-5 and these holes look so precise they almost look factory. They do not go through into where the yoke goes for the cylinder.

Assuming you mean the lower-front "corner" of the frame window.....

All I've even seen in that area is usually a small dimple left by a hardness test.
I've never seen a S&W frame with holes in that area, and I have no idea why someone would drill holes there.
