Locked Up

Almost new S&W M&P 9mm Compact 2.0.

Been running fine. 115gr Magtech ammo. Today it locked up with a round in the chamber. Slide didn't go all the way forward. Won't move forward at all. Will move back maybe 1/32, if even that much.

Tried online suggestion of putting the barrel down on a block of wood & whacking the back of the slide with another piece of wood. Whacked it quite hard several times, with an 18" 2x2. Did not budge.

So, I pointed it in a safe direction(outside of course) and whacked the front of the slide several times. Did not budge.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks !

Problem Solved

Well, I finally got some help, on the mp-pistol forum.

I'll post what I did, so that it might help somebody else.

I drilled a 9/16" hole near the end of a 2x4. Then I put the 2x4 on the ground & put the end of the barrel over the hole. Then grabbed the grip with both hands & pushed down. Didn't have to put much weight on it, before the round popped right out.

It's REALLY easy, now that I know what to do. LOL

Don't see anything wrong with the round. But, I tried it in my XDe, and the slide wouldn't close on it either.

Would post pics, but don't see that option on this forum. For those who would like to see the pics, Email: [email protected]
