S&W M-48 problems?

Is anyone out there familiar with the S&W k-frame .22 magnum? I recently purchased one which, unlike my half dozen other k-frames, is turning out to be trouble. The problem lies between the cylinder and extractor. This area seems to be a magnet for debris. Unless I clean this area after each six shots the fouling begins to create a gap between the above mentioned parts. This gap causes the extractor to bind against the frame and will eventually bring the cylinder to a grinding halt.I had a local gunsmith/police armourer checkout the gun which he concluded is in perfect mechanical order. He also did not seem the least bit suprised by the problem and in fact lead me to believe that it is quite common. Has anyone else had these types of problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
