| Case Hardened Smith
I recently bought two of the newly introduced Classics. The M22 and M40, both with case hardened frame. Anyone know who does their case hardening? Is it real or chemically done?

It's real. I've been told that S&W has the actual coloring hardening done by Doug Turnbull Company. |

The only one I've worked on and examined so far seems fake. It's a .45 ACP, can't remember the model number. The interior is not case hardened and colored, nor is the underside of the crane. If it's real, they must have some magic way of preventing the interior from being case hardened and colored. It sure looks real though.
