combat sights for Model 10

I like my old Model 10's but my eyes are getting older than the rest of me. Anyone mounted higher, fixed, combat style sights on K-frame fixed sight models?

There doesn't seem to be anything available for fixed sight revolvers these days.
If you mounted a sight on the top strap you'd need a front sight the size of a small shovel to be high enough to get on target.

Years ago there was an adjustable rear sight that could be mounted on the side of a revolver frame and could be used with the stock front sight. They've been out of business for a good many years.

Options:
Try painting the front sight with different color paints. Instead of the usual red, try fluorescent red and bright lime green.
When using fluorescent red, first paint the sight with gloss white and let it dry totally. Then paint with the fluorescent red. The gloss white causes the red to "glow" brighter.
Lime green is one of the most visible colors to the eye, as is bright yellow.

Model airplane paints are perfect for experimenting and actual use.

There's just not much you can do for a fixed revolver rear sight. You might try painting it a contrasting color.
Example, fluorescent front, yellow rear or the reverse.

A good pistol smith/machinist could machine the rear sight away and fit a slightly higher, wider blade to the frame, and rework the front sight to a higher blade to match.
Finding the 'smith and paying might be a problem.

Another option: a laser sight, possibly one built into a set of grips.

DFW,

If you are referring to the FDL Wondersight, you are probably right about the original company.

However the sight is still available here:

Thanks for the suggestions - I remember the Wondersight from years ago, and may try one of those on an old 5-screw M&P I have. I do some pistol-smithing myself, so I'm also thinking about playing around with fitting one of the newer fixed low combat sights to the back of the frame after milling a "ledge" (like on a Model 15), and then grinding off the original front blade and adding back a ramp front sight from key stock. What I really want to build is a K-frame .38 carry gun, with better fixed combat sights, and a 3 inch barrell.
