I just bought a Smith .41 mag mountain gun
DO NOT tell my wife!!Fortunately, although she shoots, and has her own 686 that she is pretty good with, she cannot tell one gun from another
I just bought it on Gunbroker for $665, which I think is a good price. I have a three screw Ruger in .41 mag that I love. I run 2 loads, a 265gr. Leadhead Keith over 19.8gr. of H110, and a 210 gr. over 8gr. of unique which is much more fun to shoot at my age. Anyhoo, I just had to tell somebody about my newest gun, LOL!
Any .41 Mag fans out there?

The .41 Magnum is my hands down favorite revolver cartridge.
I like 8.5 grains of Unique behind a 210 grain cast bullet dropped from an RCBS mold for general purpose and recreational use...and 17 grains of 2400 with the same bullet when more range and penetration are needed...which is seldom these days.
7.5 grains of Unique with that bullet duplicates the old LSWC "Police" loading's advertised velocity of 970 fps, which very few lots of Winchester and Remington did. Most ran to about 900 fps, with only two that I ran across...both Winchester...breaking 950. Still respectable, though.
IMHO, a man's armory isn't complete without a few .41s. I'm partial to the 4.62-inch Blackhawk and the Smith Model 58.
