Hello I bought a brand new Springfield TM in May of this year, I liked the way it was was decked out with the mag well etc. upon reading numerous articles I decided to purchase. My TM is in 45acp(I love this caliber)well that's when the problems started. Springfield supplies the TM with 2 mags, the first one lasted 5 rounds, ![]() Sam |

I had the same problem with my two new TM's magazines. They something jammed in the slide stop and could not move up to keep the slide open on the last round or allow you to eject them. I replaced the two S.A. followers with Pachmayr's round followers. Pachmay's round followers have a slightly larger lip to be caught by the slide stop. Also if you were shooting very slight target loads the recoil spring might be too strong that the slide did not recoil all the way pass the slide stop catch. So besides the followers replcement, I replaced the factory recoil spring with a much lighter one for target loads. Alex

I fought with my new Springfield for two solid months.... Failure to load a first round. (or any unless the mag was half empty) at about a 50% pace---- and also 90% of the time the slide wouldn't lock open after the last round. After 5 attempted fixes (suggested by gun smiths and shooting friends) and 9 new magazines of 3 different brands I finally out of desperation took apart the magazines and put in new Wolfe heavy duty springs.. I realize that you shouldn't have to do that with brand new mags from the factory! ! ! But it stopped the problem right away. Now 1,000 rounds later I have had ZERO failures to lock open.... and only one partial failure to feed (but the gun was at the end of a half day of shooting and was REALLy dirty at the time) I have since replaced all the mag. springs for the Springfiled and all are "running" fine |

I put Wolff extra power springs in all my new mags, unless I go with ISMI springs.
