Having had both, I would recommend the XD over the Baby Eagle. I currently have two XD40 Tacticals and an XD40 Service model. They are great guns and I estimate I have about 6000 rounds through my first Tactical with no problems.
My Baby Eagle was a steel compact .40 and it went to the range with me about four or five times. It was accurate and fairly reliable though sometimes susceptible to limpwristing.
On the sixth trip I loaded the gun and tried to fire it, only to find the tip of the firing pin had broken off. When I called MRI to ask about repairs, they said to send it in, the firing pin is a gunsmith fitted part. We will contact you with an estimate. Oh, and by the way, we can't ship it back to your residence. Either a business address or your FFL dealer.
I don't know what they would have charged me because I didn't send it in, I fixed it myself. After that episode I got rid of the gun at the first opportunity and will not be doing any more business with MRI.
Thankyou for that reply, I decided on the XD. I bought it today, the XD-40 tactical for 459.00 But I have to wait a week because it came with 15 round mag. California is 10 round mag. Any how tanks again.
