Don't have a 1911, but my XD/M 9mm is full size and I carry it or a S&W Sigma .40 IWB. No problems.

I carry a fullsize 1911, 10mm, Sparks 2 inch belt with Sparks IWB VM II holster. If you get any other brand holster OWB or IWB make sure you get a sturdy holster, 1.5 inch is very popular.

Just cause it's the New Year, LOL....

I carry mine in an El Paso Saddlery C Force IWB, with 1 3/4 " loop and an EPS 1 3/4 " Ranger belt... Just like I was doing 8 years ago when this post started...

Always carry a full size 1911, and always will, when I put my pants on in the morning until I take them off at night, than it sleeps next to my bed within reach.

Amen. I don't have a carry rotation, I have a carry pistol, a splendid Colt GM series 70 .45 worked over by the late Ikey Starkes to provide a straight forward, no "gamesman" gimmicks service gun. It doubles as my "go-to" HD weapon. It gets carried in one of two similar Purdy holsters (depending on season and weather) and practice with it is carried out using those holsters and, as much as expense will allow, using the same Winchester PDX-1 ammo used for CC/HD service. I fire my other long guns and handguns as frequently as I can but always make sure to keep "qualified" with my trusted primary choice.

I don't carry it all the time but always carry when going for outing. A full size 1911 is best choice with a gun holster.

all I'm using for holsters now days is the Milt Sparks VMII, a pain, for me to get on, but after a few days you won't noticed the fact that you are carrying a FS gun, along with a good gun belt though.
