Quck story for those interested. I owned a Kimber 45 and a Glock model 22 .40 cal. I found the Glock to be inaccurate and having no external safety devices. I determined to replace it and did with an XD-40. Loved the grip safety and chamber full indicator as well as the cocked indicator.
All good. Got a good deal on a NIB bi-tone for $450. Got $500 for the Glock so I made money and kept my Tac light which fits the XD. But will it shoot?
Went to the range and was stunned. Stunned that the things shoots as accurate as my Kimber Tac Pro II which I think is extremly accurate. I think we got a winner!

I purchased an XD 40, service model in the OD green and Black. I have been reading about them for a while, and two friends bought the 9mm subcompacts.
I took it to the range today, and let her eat one hundred rounds, no FTF or FTE. This weapon is great in function and accuracy.
I am considering getting some of the hogue slip on grips though, but overall I am very pleased with this weapon.
The ammo was winchester 165grain ball ammo, friday I'll be feeding her a few different types of hollow points to find some home defense ammo; till then I'll use the ol shotgun if there's a break in.
