STI Trubor Slide Safety

Have been breaking in my new Trubor in 38 super and have had some false lock backs. Noticed that there is no detent on the side of the slide safety. Does anyone know if there should be a detent for the slide stop plunger?

yes, for what sti charges I'd send it back. I am hearing more and more problems from STI strongly considered a VIP I read three different magazine reviews even the ones linked from STI websights and all of them had problems that needed to be corrected by the factory. Of course they then got glowing reports. Seems like you can find tons of STI really stood behind it and they fixed my problem etc etc. My question is why are so many problems getting out the door ?

What is this "slide safety" you refer to?

If you mean the MANUAL safety, that's on the frame; not the slide. And if your grip is correct (strong thumb on that safety), there is NO WAY it can possibly cause slide lock.

Do you mean the slide LOCK, a/k/a, slide RELEASE? That is not a safety at all, but could cause the slide to lock open before you've emptied the mag of all its cartridges. It SHOULD have a spring-loaded plunger engaging a detent, just as the manual safety does.

At any rate, you have two easily-cured problems, unfamiliarity with the nomenclature and a gun acting up in the warranty period. The first is cured by reading; the second by returning the gun.
