S T I Grip Question

Any body else have this problem?? With a soft strong hand grip...Mags free fall ..no problems.BUT ...with my trigger finger outside the trigger guard..with any two of the three fingers left and not tryin'very hard..I squeez the grip hard enough, the mags Take a good pull to get out and it's a few seconds before the frame spreads back out....Shot a local match this past weekend...snatchin' those mags out cost Me several seconds.
Thanks ,
Bill Caldwell

The only problem I had was that the mag release button: if i pressed it hard, the mag would fall half way and stop because the release overtraveled and acted like a brake.

Soft handle

To update everyone on the problem Wild Bill was having with the grip. He took the pistol to the SHOT show and STI replaced the grip with a new grip. The one Wild Bill had was defective, I guess his was a little soft. ops:

If you are having the same problem...you know what to do.

Most often see this problem with those who have chosen to go with the Roupe Grip, or a modification like it. Good mod, but the problem can be that some material is removed from the grip frame, taking away from rigidity and structural integrity.

But why you gripping it sooooo hard in the first place?

Wild Bill is used to hammering stuff and using his hands. It will give a guy a pretty good grip.

I still think he was griping too hard, but that is the way he shoots.

I have the Roupe grips and after I read your post, I tried it. Nope, I can't make them bend or give. I'll keep them away form Wild Bill.
