SA XD-9. Single or Double Action?
They let Robbie Leatham shoot one of these in the USPSA Factory Gun Nationals, as "Production", which specifies "no single action guns allowed, first shot must be double action." Unless I've missed something, the XD is a true single action- the trigger doesn't cock anything, and IDPA classifies it as a single action, and puts it into the Enhanced Service Pistol division.
Anyone out there heard about this?

Hello. It's my understanding that the Glock striker is but partially retracted when a round is in the chamber and pressing the trigger fully retracts and releases it. The XD striker is fully retracted when a round is chambered. The trigger performs one function: It releases the striker firing the pistol. To me, the XD is a single-action.

I've heard IPSC will be removing the gun from Production eligibility,,,but at least for the time being it is still legal in USPSA......though I wouldn't count on it forever.
I've only messed around with the XD a couple times,,,,didn't really care for it....but to each his own.
