Les Martin and his mentor, Tom Shimoda

Anyone here have any of their guns???

I have had a few Shimodas and still have a very early one built out of parts for a cheapo bullseye gun for a very young HPD officer.

Have a Les Martin commander in 9MM with barsto, low mount bomars, and a conversion unit to 38 Super with its own bushing.

Love to hear from some other fans.

Shimoda guns

Tom, I realize this is a old post but I thought I would take a change. I own a Tommy Shimoda Smolt. He made it in !980 for a friend of mine that worked for the Honolulu Police department. It started life as a S&W mod 15. He added the python barrel sanded of the wording and reblued the entire gun plus complete action job, target hammer and trigger. I just added the Cocobolo grips. The action is incredible! I own a lot of S$W PC guns and this trigger is better than them all. It has a little holster wear as it was used as my friends service gun till they switched to pistols. I am also receiving another mod 15 double action boot gun that Tommy made. Barrel was shorten and action work done. But the Smolt is the one. Any body have any idea on values of Shimoda's guns?

Thank you in advance and I will try and post pictures. This is my first day here.

I was a young Marine stationed at K-Bay MCAS when I met Tommy Shimoda and M Y Lum at the HPD Pistol Range in 1973. I'm honored to call Both of these fine men my friends. In my 68 years I have never felt a firearm with as smooth an action as Tommy turned out on a regular basis. I only owned one of his guns, a 1911, Gold Cup .38 wad cutter, but it was excellent. The best gift he gave me was befriending me and sharing some of his knowledge with me. Does anyone have info on Tommy's son-in-law, Joseph Rodriques? first post: Chuck W.
