Automags - yes, for the "cool factor".
Hardballers - no. They were very rough and needed a lot of work to get running. IIRC there was galling probs with the slide and frame.
The little stainless .380 was pretty cool for it's time.

new amt forum/site is now up for you amt junkies.i own an early covina build longslide,fit and finish is top notch,half teh prob was teh workers screwing with the cnc controls or the jigs slipping/loosning up.it happens.i have had colts in worse shape as well as other 1911's by other makers mismachined or our of spec as well.no ones perfect.on mine i believe the sites a millet.
i wished i knew who made harry sanfords barrels though in the beginning.

nrg,I have a allmost compleat 30cal amt long slide.Its only missing a few parts the transfer bar for the trigger it runs on th eout side of the gun,it is gone,some of the springs are gone but the whole slide frame barrle and bushing are all there it is in ok shape I would trade it or sell it.
I allso have a wildey in 45 win mag and anuther barrle in 475Wildey that I would trade or sell it is missing the same parts and it is missing the hammer.
they are boath in Ok shape,Good for parts or as custom builds
