Steve Nastoff
Can anyone share pictures of Mr. Nastoff's work. If not give explanations or evalutations of what made his work special. I have heard a great deal about his guns but nothing specific. I understand he is still building but not full time....We are fortunate to see some of the best pistolsmiths working today, i.e. Burns, Yost, Christiansen, etc....but I have not been educated on the Nastoff guns....Thx

Most knowledgable gunmen who know their way around a 1911, inside and out, say Nastoff's guns are easily some of best (if not the best) of the generation.

I haven't seen anything that disputes that yet.

Several have said Nastoff is not building these days, as his full time job with the INS keeps him too busy. Couple of the guys here, Mike Benedict and Lou Alessi talk to him on occasion I believe.

I have seen several, including one of the list member's stainless Series 80, that I lost the pictures of. If that was "your" gun, please resend me the pictures will you?

I always thought of Nastoff's work as exceptional. Better yet the guy can shoot as well as build a gun.

My blaster by Nastoff pic(s)

That staining on the grip safety really bugs me.Steve bead blasted it for me,we both thought it was rust.Turns out to be something in the metal,I hope it can be plated over.
I've had this gun since '95,so I must not be too concerned with it.

The rear of the slide is checkered at, I believe, 50 lpi. This is my first digital camera,so my pics are a little weak.

Dig the checkered hammer spur! That was Steve's idea and I really like it.
