Extractor modification on p38/p1
I purchased a p1 and notice the casings eject straight back into my head area. I was told that some slight beveling on the extractor can redirect to over my right shoulder. Can anyone explain in lay terms, how I can do this without harming this fine gun?

Before altering the extactor, I'd try a different brand of ammo.
Some guns will throw brass in you face, and a different brand doesn't.
Also check the ejector for burrs, bends or other damage. This is the "lever" on the left rear of the frame, visible when the magazine is inserted in the field stripped frame.

The top eject of the P-38/P-1 pistols does mean that you will sometimes take on for the team. Shoot some more rounds through it before you make any changes though. My P-38 putts the rounds into low earth orbit. When I get hit it's usually a bank shot off the ceiling.
