S&A Knows Service
I bought a used P14 two weeks ago & whoever fit the beavertail left so little engagement that with a little wear the safety started letting the gun fire without being depressed. A buddy said that he could build up the surface with his TIG so that I could refit it and so I called Smith & Alexander to find out what alloy it was made from. The welding supply's I spoke to said it was an oddball steel & none of them had the filler rod in stock. So I called S&A again to make sure I had the right stuff & the woman who answered the phone let me speak to an older gentleman who said he had some filler rod but then decided to just send me a new safety!
There was absolutely no reason for him to do that, as the poor fit most definitely wasn't their fault. I appreciate a company that doesn't require you to be a 15k a year customer in order to do a favor.
Positive stories don't get repeated much, but I'm definitely glad to be able to tell this one.
